The ice
The Union of Italian Ice Cream Manufacturers (Uniteis) chose 2022 “Stracciatella with rosemary” for the ice cream of the year. Motto: “A classic flavor with a touch of the Mediterranean.” Many prefer to stay classic with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
The current nutrition trends are also reflected in the offer of the Linz ice cream parlors, as an OÖN local inspection showed. In addition to traditional varieties, more and more vegan and sugar-free variants can be found on the ice cream menu. Next to fruit sorbetswhich mostly do without cow’s milk anyway, there is now also plant-based chocolate ice cream.
