The country has compared the prices of the boat rental companies on our lakes. “The prices are very similar, there is a good rental offer on every larger lake,” explains consumer protection councilor Stefan Kaineder (Greens). An hour of electric boating is the cheapest at Mondsee with 18 euros, pedal boats can be rented at Wolfgangsee from 14 euros for an hour.
It is striking that the prices between the different lakes differ only slightly. Compared to the previous year, prices have not increased at all or only minimally.
On Lake Traunsee you pay between 20 and 23 euros per hour for an electric boat and 18 euros for a pedal boat. At Lake Attersee, an electric boat costs 20 euros (four- and six-seaters cost 28 and 48 euros per hour respectively). At the Mondsee, electric boats are available from 18 euros (2-speed) or 30 euros (1-speed), pedal boats can be rented for 15 euros. A pedal boat on Lake Hallstatt costs 15 euros (as does the stand-up paddle). For an electric boat on Lake Wolfgang you have to lay out between 19 and 23 euros, a rowing boat is already available from twelve euros, pedal boats cost between 14 and 16 euros per hour. Occasionally you can rent boats for just half an hour, longer rental periods are of course also possible. “Before you rent a boat, it’s good to compare prices,” advises Kaineder.
