The pump track facility at Middle School 2 in Mühlfeldstraße has not yet officially opened, but the children are already busy driving and practicing. “I hope that we can enjoy and have fun with the new sports facility for a very long time,” says Mayor Doris Staudinger.
A pump track is a specially created bike course that is to be completed without pedaling, just by pushing the body up from the depths. This challenges the motor skills of the athletes.
The facility consists of a circuit with 500 square meters of riding surface, its own jump line and an integrated jump and transfer node. The bike park is fenced in and freely accessible through a gate daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Seating will be created, bike racks and a drinking fountain will also be available. The pump track offers a sporting supplement for clubs and schools in the region.
On August 3rd, a workshop with a professional for children and young people will take place as part of the holiday program. The official opening will be celebrated on August 30th with the ORF summer radio.
Sport- und Freizeitanlagen GmbH built the facility and received financial support from the federal government, the federal states and the European Union. Driving in the pump track is possible for all age groups.
