The drunk 64-year-old had overlooked the island, which belongs to Pörtschach (Klagenfurt-Land district) at the affected point, drove through the reed belt and finally landed, the police reported. According to the preliminary assessment, the boat driver was injured by the impact, four other passengers, all German, were unharmed. After the positive breathalyser test, the boat driver was taken to the Klagenfurt Clinic by the ambulance. Because of the boat accident, three fire brigades and the water rescue service from the surrounding locations had to move out. The boat could not be born for the time being, further investigations into the boat accident are to follow.
