The company announced that 45 people are expected to be made redundant, 43 of them at the Linz location. According to the bet-at-home group, a total of 168 people are currently employed, 146 of whom are active employees in Austria.
In the previous year, the company cut 65 jobs in Austria, where bet-at-home is struggling with falling results and legal hurdles. Due to the legal problems, the online casino offer was also discontinued in autumn 2021. In Austria, bet-at-home now only offers sports betting.
The Düsseldorf-based company now wants to outsource the development and operation of the customer and payment platform as well as the online sports betting product. It has not been announced who will take over these services in the future. According to the broadcast, it is a “renowned provider of outsourcing services”. The order volume is in the low single-digit million range.
bet-at-home itself intends to use the outsourcing to focus on marketing and customer relationship management in the future, it said. In terms of business figures, the company is hoping for positive effects from the restructuring. This year the effect will not yet be visible in the balance sheet, but from the coming year the Management Board expects an annual improvement in group EBIT of six to eight million euros.
The bet-at-home share price has suffered greatly in the past year. The stock has lost nearly 70 percent in the past 12 months.
