Sebastian Vettel will retire from Formula 1. The decision of the 35-year-old German has matured in recent weeks.
“I hereby announce that I will end my Formula 1 career at the end of the 2022 season,” is the first sentence of a detailed video that Vettel published Thursday afternoon on his newly created Instagram account (see below).
With four world championship titles (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013), the Heppenheimer is one of the most successful drivers in Formula 1 history. In 289 race starts so far, he has made 122 podium appearances, 53 of them at the top. 57 he started from pole position.
