Germany meets England’s hosts in the final of the European Championship on Sunday (6 p.m.). The mood in the German camp should be excellent.
Goal scorer Alexandra Popp confirmed this impression at the press conference on Friday when she appeared with a false mustache and laughingly introduced herself with “Hello, I’m Alexander, I’m glad I’m here”.
The background was an article in the German satirical magazine “Der Postillon”, which the day before had given Popp a mustache with a photo montage and headlined it: “Hansi Flick nominated for Qatar (men’s World Cup; note): Alexander Popp”.
“We also want to make fun of what’s happening on social media,” added 31-year-old Popp at the press conference.
