In September, the first city crèche opens

The city will offer another childcare facility in the fall. In September, the first municipal crèche opens in the Resthofstraße 39 kindergarten. In addition to the two facilities operated by private organizations, Steyr then has a total of three crèches.

In future, ten children between the ages of one and three years will be cared for in the Resthof crèche group. Opening hours are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. A warm meal is provided for all children who are not picked up at midday. After lunch, the children have the opportunity to rest in the relaxation room.

From the 30th month of life, visits to the crèche are free of charge until 1 p.m. The tariff for afternoon care is graded socially. Depending on requirements, two, three or five afternoons can be used. The tariff for a visit in the morning (up to the age of 30 months) is also graded socially.

The city is providing around 50,000 euros for the expansion and furnishing of the group room and for the planned design of the garden.

“With the opening of the city’s first crèche, we are making an important contribution so that even the youngest can be cared for professionally and lovingly,” says Deputy Mayor Anna-Maria Demmelmayr, the responsible officer. Parents now have the opportunity to have their children looked after from one year up to elementary school age.
