SKU Amstetten has been allowed to play on the pitch in Dornbirn four times since it was promoted to the 2nd division, and the Mostviertler have returned from the Ländle just as often with full points. On Friday, coach Jochen Fallmann’s squad celebrated an unchallenged 3-1 away win against Vorarlberg, who were decimated after the 60th minute.
New signing João Luiz Alves Soares – the 23-year-old offensive player from Brazil was last engaged at Wacker Innsbruck – hadn’t even sat down on the substitutes’ bench on his debut in the Amstettner squad when it was already 1-0 for his new team : Sebastian Leimhofer had served Thomas Mayer with a hole pass, who then rounded the Dornbirn goalkeeper and skillfully pushed the ball into the goal to take the lead (2′).
The Mostviertlers must have felt that they were in a false sense of security against their favorite opponent: Lukas Parger managed to equalize in the 26th minute, and just before the half-time whistle the home side could have taken the lead.
After the restart, Amstetten made it difficult for himself with his own mistakes, before Peter Tschernegg set the course for victory again with a powerful but deflected shot from twenty meters (54th). Around a quarter of an hour before the end of the game, Fallmann brought his Brazilian new acquisition onto the field – and only minutes later the final goal came to make it 3-1 (81st): It was Tschernegg again, who after a corner kick with the strong help of a Dornbirner met.
Amstetten kept a clean sheet with this win, is now second in the table behind St. Pölten and will meet Admira at home on Friday (6.10 p.m.) who have been relegated to the Bundesliga.
