A serious accident happened yesterday in the early afternoon on an agricultural property in the market town of Mauerkirchen (Braunau district). A 69-year-old woman and her 67-year-old partner were loading at around 1.20 p.m. in the courtyard of their property. Her partner was driving a heavy wheel loader and wanted to drive it backwards into the yard.
The woman had stood behind the tractor to give the 67-year-old further instructions from there. However, according to the press office of the State Police Directorate, he should not have seen his partner.
When driving back, the 69-year-old suddenly fell under the tires of the heavy loader and was run over by the vehicle.

Although her partner immediately set the rescue chain in motion and alerted the emergency services, they were no longer able to help the woman. The woman from Mauerkirch died at the scene of the accident as a result of her serious injuries. The crisis intervention team in Mauerkirchen was there immediately and cared for the 67-year-old, who suffered severe shock from the accident.
