Jakub Kubes comes to the Untere Donaulände from HC Zubr Prerov from the second Czech division and has signed a contract until the end of September. After that, they want to evaluate whether the 25-year-old has recommended himself for further assignments.
On paper, Kubes has everything an attacking defender needs: 1.94 meters tall, 100 kilograms, four goals and 19 assists in 38 league games last season. The right-hand shooter will be present at the first ice training session. The same applies to nine other newcomers, only center Michael Haga is still missing on Monday evening, his arrival is expected on Wednesday.
“We quickly recognized Jakub’s enthusiasm and potential and saw some things that we really like. It was a good opportunity for us to support a young, ambitious defender in his next steps. As a right-hand shooter and with his physical condition, he brings important elements into our game,” says sporting director Philipp Lukas.
