With its own training, the state of Upper Austria wants to expand the early support of people with disabilities. Early support aims to support children with problems or those with disabilities as early as possible and thus promote their development. Parents are also trained in how to deal with their children properly.
“Early support is an important measure in order to be able to react to impairments in childhood and to promote a self-determined life,” says Provincial Councilor Wolfgang Hattmansdorfer (VP). With the new training, the existing offers are to be expanded. The budget for early support was also increased to 4.22 million euros. To this end, the social department under Hattmannsdorfer works together with the BFI and the Spattstraße center of the Diakonie. In the latter, children, adolescents and young adults with disabilities have been accompanied and supported for 60 years.
