A newborn baby was found dead this Monday afternoon in a trash can on Avenida Comendador Messias Baptista, in Povoa da Mealhada, in the municipality of Mealhada.
The alarm was announced at 18:50, after the mother was admitted to the hospital with hemorrhages. Under pressure from the doctors who visited her, she eventually revealed that she had left the baby in a trash can wrapped in plastic bags.
