Church musicians from all over Europe sing in the Gosau Valley

The Gosau Singing Weeks are taking place for the 63rd time this week and next. At the invitation of the State Association for Church Music in the Evangelical Church of the Palatinate, musical people from Germany and many other European countries meet at the foot of the Dachstein to hike and sing together.

During the day, hiking, sightseeing and relaxation fill the program, while the evenings are reserved for intensive rehearsals. The two Sunday services on August 7th and 14th in Gosau will be organized by the Singwochenchor.

The culmination of the fourteen-day stay will be three concerts on Friday, August 12, in the Bad Ischl parish church, on Saturday, August 13, in the Bad Aussee parish church, and on Sunday, August 14, in the Gosau evangelical church (each at 8 p.m ). The program includes the “Te Deum”, the hymn “Hör mein Bitten” and “Three Spiritual Songs” by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy as well as “18 Liturgical Psalms” by Louis Lewandowski.
