According to initial information, two vehicles collided around 4 p.m. in the municipality of Niederneukirchen. The background to the accident was initially unclear. First aiders, together with the Red Cross, were able to free a man from one of the wrecks and immediately began resuscitation, which the emergency doctor continued a little later.
But for the accident victim, any help came too late: Despite all efforts, the driver died at the scene of the accident. The second person involved was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Two fire brigades, several emergency vehicles from the Red Cross, an emergency doctor and the police were on duty.
