Another three Ukrainian grain ships will sail on Friday

Thanks to the “intensive work” of the Grain Exports Coordination Center set up in Istanbul, the departure of three ships is planned for Friday, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Thursday evening, according to the Anadolu Agency.

On the basis of an agreement brokered by Turkey, a cargo ship carrying grain left Ukrainian-controlled territory on Monday for the first time since the start of the Russian war against Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian embassy in Lebanon, the “Razoni”, loaded with 26,000 tons of corn, is expected in the port of Tripoli there on Sunday morning.

Agricultural exports via the Ukrainian Black Sea ports had recently been blocked for months because of the Russian war of aggression. According to EU figures, around 90 percent of the exports of grain and oilseeds, which are of great importance to countries in Africa and the Middle East, were processed in this way before the war.
