Timelkamer Annafest with groundbreaking and premiere

This year’s Annafest of the Timelkam parish was marked by the groundbreaking ceremony for the new mortuary and the premiere of a festival mass by the Vöcklabruck composer Stefan Andreas Scheicher.

Long efforts had preceded the groundbreaking. During the initial planning, the financial possibilities and the requirements of the Federal Monuments Office proved to be difficult hurdles. It was only through the acquisition of the Hirsch property that the possibility of a complete redesign presented itself. The market town will start construction work in autumn and will enable the local population to say goodbye to their deceased in a timely manner.

Stefan Andreas Scheicher received great applause in the well-attended St. Anna Church after the premiere of his mass “God is my hope”. The Vöcklabruck composer aligned the instrumental cast according to the possibilities of the Timelkamer Choir, which the music school teachers and students usually also accompanied instrumentally at the high masses. This time the composer played the double bass himself and was able to put his stamp on his work at the premiere.

Schwicher’s composition was very well received because of its liveliness, sonority and not least because of the German text. Deacon Seiringer, who led the service, said only at the end: “Powerful!”
