In July 2021, the 69-year-old from the Braunau district reported to the police: an acquaintance from the Dominican Republic had repeatedly cheated and stolen from him since 2015. The woman would also be in Europe under a pseudo-identity.
The accused is a 40-year-old Dominican woman. In the years 2021 and 2022, she is said to have withdrawn a five-digit euro amount from the Innviertler’s account. She is also accused of using the victim’s ATM card to pay for online orders. She had the ordered goods delivered to an address in Italy.
An international arrest warrant was issued by the regional court in Ried im Innkreis. The woman was arrested in Milan on July 28 and extradited to Austria. She was taken to Ried Prison.
