The B&C private foundation is, among other things, the majority shareholder of the industrial groups AMAG and Lenzing and also holds shares in technology companies. B&C also owns almost 35 percent of MLS (Machine Learning Solutions GmbH) through an intermediary company, the “Standard” refers to the company register. The majority owner is DSIRF GmbH (Decision Supporting Information Research Forensic).
At the end of July, Microsoft accused DSIRF of using the Subzero spyware for attacks against companies in Europe and South America. DSIRF had already rejected the allegations in the “Kurier”.
B&C spokesman Jürgen Gangoly told the “Standard” that MLS had nothing to do with Subzero. Rather, the MLS is working “exclusively on the development of new Austrian software in the field of cybersecurity (data security, prevention, defense against hackers)”. This is intended exclusively for sale to authorities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
However, the “standard” also refers to a contribution in kind agreement, which shows that DSIRF transferred all rights to the “Subzero” intangible asset to MLS in November 2019. The value of this tangible asset is around 200 million euros. At the same time, B&C also joined MLS at the end of 2019. “We cannot foresee at this point in time whether the allegations against the DSIRF will affect our investment,” said B&C spokesman Gangoly.
