The former member of parliament Hans-Jörg Jenewein, who left the FPÖ only last week, was taken to a hospital on Sunday and, according to media reports, is said to be in a coma. The doctors are fighting for his life.
It is confirmed that he was found unconscious by his wife in the early hours of Sunday morning in his home in Lower Austria (district of St. Pölten-Land). The then alarmed rescue brought Jenewein to a hospital.
The former MP and Federal Councilor was most recently an employee in the FPÖ National Council Club. For a long time he was considered a close confidant of FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl.
In the course of investigations, a draft advertisement for the misuse of funds against the former and current leadership of the Viennese state party of the FPÖ was found on Jenewein’s mobile phone in autumn 2021. Officials from the Federal Criminal Police Office found “that it is unrealistic that Jenewein did not write the ad himself”.
Legal Consequences
Jenewein left the party last week. After the case and because of the allegations, the FPÖ also took legal consequences, which were ordered by Kickl himself.
On Sunday, the FPÖ did not want to comment on the developments out of consideration for the Jenewein family.
