After Rapid’s draw against Lustenau, LASK is the leader of the table

The two major Viennese clubs Rapid and Austria Wien made unwelcome acquaintances with the Vorarlberg duo in the third round of the Bundesliga. While Rapid, outnumbered at home, only managed a 1-1 draw against promoted Austria Lustenau, Wiener Austria stumbled completely (2-3) on the way to their first win of the season after leading 2-0 in Altach. WSG Tirol and Austria Klagenfurt separated 2:2.

Rapid – Austria Lustenau – final score 1:1: Guido Burgstaller deservedly put the Viennese ahead in front of 17,600 spectators in the Allianz Stadium (21st). After a hard yellow-red card against Ante Bajic (57th), Stefano Surdanovic (70th) managed to equalize for Markus Mader’s team with a majority. For Rapid it was the first goal in the third league game, equivalent to the first loss of points. With seven points, Ferdinand Feldhofer’s team is now in second place behind LASK due to the worse goal difference, the Lustenauer have four points in the account.

WSG Tirol – Austria Klagenfurt – final score 2:2: Austria Klagenfurt scored their first point of the current Bundesliga season with a tour de force in injury time. Thanks to a goal by Jonas Arweiler (92nd) and a penalty kick by Nicolas Wimmer (97th), the Carinthians managed a well-deserved 2:2 (0:2) at WSG Tirol. After an early brace from Tim Prica (8th, 12th), the Watteners had looked like the winners for a long time.

Altach – Austria Vienna – final score 3:2: Austria took the lead before the break through Manfred Fischer, Haris Tabakovic followed suit in the 53rd minute. However, coach Miroslav Klose’s home team didn’t give up and Adthe Nuhiu scored the goal (63′) before an unfortunate own goal by Matthias Braunöder, who played well, equalized for Altach (74′). In added time, Nuhiu even made it 3-2 with his second header.
