“I’m in good spirits that we can report completion this week.” SV Ried, with coach Christian Heinle, will probably hit the transfer market in the coming days. During yesterday’s Sky program “Talk & Tore” the coach gave insights into the current squad planning of the Innviertler. Above all, because of the painful absence of Nikola Stosic (cruciate ligament rupture), Ried has to react: “We created a requirement profile and scouted exactly according to this profile.”
Even if the staffing level is tense due to the injuries to Stosic, Matthias Gragger and Julian Turi, Heinle is satisfied with the transfer program so far: “I’m convinced of all the players who are with us. It was a big cut. We have made sure that we reduce the number of players so that we can give players from our own academy the opportunity to gain a foothold in the professional team. All in all, we did quite well. But we can’t quickly replace injuries at the moment. But we are working flat out to add quality to certain positions.”
The 37-year-old is pursuing a clear goal for the new season: “The first aspect is that young players see Ried as a springboard again. The second aspect is football. It is extremely important to me that we have a clear plan in all phases. It’s going in the right direction.” Last season, his club just missed out on the championship group, but in the new season he finds qualifying for the top six even more difficult: “The championship group would be absolutely presumptuous this year. For me, the top six in the table are relatively safe. For this reason, we as a club have clearly set ourselves the goal of being better than last year. “
