Jazz, blues, soul: the sound of New York is coming to Mattighofen

The New York City Music Marathon transforms Mattighofen into a musical Mecca again this year. Gernot Bernroider, who was born in Mattighofen, has been bringing the pulsating energy of New York to his hometown since 2012. With the popular music festival, he invites you to a series of concerts and workshops from August 17th to 21st in the Mattighofen city park (or hall).

Opening night, August 17th: With his “Culturessence”, Bernroider kicked off the opening night in the Stadtsaal. Lecturers from the NYCMM workshops, Berlin saxophonist Brigitta Flick and US bassist Ike Sturm can also be seen and heard. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

Blues Power Night, August 18th: Guitarist and singer Kai Strauss is one of the big names on the European blues scene; 7.30pm.

Big Band Night, August 19th: Fresh vigor of the Upper Austrian Youth Jazz Orchestra meets the new program of the Upper Austrian Jazz Orchestra; 19 o’clock.

Jazz, Soul & Funk Night, August 20th: Jazz, soul and funk are the focus of Chanda Rule and “The Sweet Emma Band”. songwriting freshness brings “Jazzbaby!”; 19 o’clock

Family Music Day in the Park, August 20th: Drumming, singing and dancing together is the motto on Saturday, August 20th, from 11 a.m. “Brennholz Rocks” invites you to the join-in concert from 1 p.m.

“A Musical Day in the Park”, August 21: The “Young Music Lions” trio can be experienced at the jazz brunch, starting at 11 a.m., which is followed by the final concert for all workshop participants at 5 p.m.

Jam Sessions: From 10 p.m., lecturers and workshop participants will play in the Jam Rock Café.

Exhibition: The touring exhibition in the show “architektur zeitraum 2010 bis 2020” in the Stadtsaal and in the pavilion of the LMS Mattighofen shows 73 examples of successful architecture in the state.
