The work in the thermal and health resort of Bad Füssing in the immediate vicinity of the Obernberg border is in full swing. Next Sunday, the health travel destination with more than two million overnight stays per year should succeed in entering the famous Guinness Book of Records. The record idea: Enjoying coffee and cake in the open air along a row of tables around one and a half kilometers long. 540 table elements are to be screwed together. Several hundred liters of fair trade coffee and up to 3,500 pieces of cake are in preparation.
Four bakeries and confectioneries from the spa provide visitors with cakes. Fresh fruit from the region is used to produce the sweet delicacies. Master confectioner Martin Lorenz, for example, has his hands full and will be baking around a thousand pieces of “Zwetschgendatschi”.
Those responsible also focus on sustainability when it comes to the dishes for the guests. No disposable cups or plates are used, only porcelain service and stainless steel cutlery.
