Mohamed Camara’s move to AS Monaco has taken place. The midfield engine, who has yet to play a minute in a competitive game for Red Bull Salzburg this season, is leaving the club as a three-time champion and three-time cup winner after four and a half years. At Monaco in Ligue 1 he becomes a teammate of ex-Salzburger Takumi Minamino. “It was a wonderful time for me. It was like a family for me, I will never forget it,” said Camara.
But he feels that the time has come to look for a new job in a new league, said the 22-year-old from Mali. “Mo has developed into a real leader and a strong personality with us in recent years,” Salzburg sports director Christoph Freund is quoted as saying in the press release. “Among other things, he was always one of the players who went ahead and took responsibility at our big international games.”
