Thomas Strizik took his first vacation to Attersee when he was five years old. At that time he was staying with his parents at the Hotel Stadler in Unterach am Attersee.
Later, the Lower Austrian, who lives in Krems an der Donau, became a regular at the Hotel Föttinger in Steinbach am Attersee. He vacationed there for 40 years. Strizik has been a regular at the Seehaus Schernthaner in Unterach am Attersee since 2000. Every year he comes to his favorite place for two weeks.
This year Strizik is celebrating a round anniversary: he has been spending his holidays at Lake Attersee for 70 years now. This makes him probably the most loyal Salzkammergut vacationer at the moment. The Attersee-Attergau Tourist Association thanked them with a small gift these days.
He passed his love for Lake Attersee on to his family long ago. His wife Helma Strizik and his two children Maximilian and Alexandra are also completely enthusiastic about Austria’s largest inland lake. “I’m proud that we’ve been coming here for so many years,” says the 85-year-old. “And that we like the Attersee so much every time.”
