The Mixed Leadership Barometer by the consulting firm EY shows that the proportion of women on the boardrooms of the companies included in the WBI Index has reached a new high at 17 people (or 9 percent), one more than at the beginning of the year. Currently 5 women are CFOs and 4 are CEOs. Two women each work as COO or CCO. Only 29 percent of the companies in the Vienna Stock Exchange Index (WBI) have at least one woman on the executive board. And only 4 companies (7.1 percent) are led by a woman.
In the real estate industry, the proportion of female board members is highest at 20 percent. In second place is the consumer goods sector with a share of 19 percent. In industry, the proportion of women on the board is 9.5 percent.
It looks better in the supervisory bodies: Of the 539 supervisory board positions, 163 are occupied by women – at least 30.2 percent. At least one woman sits on the supervisory board of 89 percent of the companies.
The proportion of female supervisory board members is highest in the transport and logistics sector at 37 percent, followed by the energy sector at 34.9 percent and the telecoms sector at 33.3 percent.
