Around an alternative open-air festival, which took place from August 12th to 14th in the municipality of Taiskirchen, numerous drivers were stopped and checked by officials from the Ried district traffic service and specially trained officials from the state traffic department and the local police. 54 drug drivers and seven alcohol drivers were caught by the police.
But the police were not only on duty on the streets around the venue, officers from the coordinated criminal service of the Ried district also carried out random checks at the festival site itself together with forces from the on-call unit. Police dogs were also used.
Small amounts of marijuana, cocaine, amphetamine and XTC were seized. In this context, 48 people are being reported for a crime under the Narcotics Act, the police said on Tuesday.
