That the Gasthaus zur Linde in Wels should be closed – “I didn’t know anything about that,” says Martin Bödecker. And as the landlord of the traditional inn on the Ringstrasse in Wels, he should know. The rumor has been going around for some time that Bödecker wants to sell the inn that he runs together with his wife Evelyn and that a new building is to be built there.
A rumor that is not true. In fact, he has limited the opening hours – Saturday is a day off. “We’re like so many, we just can’t find enough staff. And we don’t want to overstrain the people we have,” says Bödecker when asked by OÖN.
It’s not funny – “and if you say out of anger that you’ve had enough and want to let it go, people take it at face value,” says the landlord.
He has no intention of locking up. Due to the staff situation, however, he is considering only opening in the evening from autumn. “We have to make sure that we divide our forces well,” says Bödecker.
