The joint project Community Nursing of the municipalities of Altmünster and Traunkirchen goes into full operation. The graduate nurses Tanja Gattinger and Rebecca Schachinger have moved into their office on the Ortsplatz in Traunkirchen and are available to the population in nursing, social and health issues.
Gattinger and Schachinger support in particular older and very old people and their relatives. An EU funding program for community nursing makes it possible. It is limited to three years. However, Brussels assumes that most municipalities will then continue the program of their own accord. In the district of Gmunden there are already other community nurses in the communities of Kirchham, Roitham and Ebensee.
“Our focus is on consulting,” says Tanja Gattinger. “We want to help people to live independent, healthy and fulfilling lives.”
An important field of activity is mobile advice and home visits. To this end, Altmünster and Traunkirchen have purchased their own cars, which the two community nurses use to make home visits. The two mayors Christoph Schragl (Traunkirchen) and Martin Pelzer (Altmünster) handed over the vehicles to the two women these days.
health network
Tanja Gattinger and Rebecca Schachinger are now building up a broad network. Your partners are family doctors, pharmacies, inpatient care facilities, therapists and other people who work in the health and care sector.
In the future, the population will be offered information events and themed evenings, for example on the subject of fall prevention. From autumn there will also be consultation days in the districts of Traunkirchen, Altmünster, Neukirchen and Reindlmühl. It is also planned that the community nurses will be present at the farmer’s market in Altmünster or at events in Altmünster and Traunkirchen from time to time in order to bring their offers closer to the population.
“The services of our two community nurses are well received by the population,” says Traunkirchen’s mayor Christoph Schragl. “Although their offers are new, they are already very well received by the population.”
