1991: SV Ried manages promotion to the second Bundesliga with a 3-0 home win against Flavia Solva. Four years later they managed a 1-0 win in front of their home crowd against FC Linz, while Ried was in the Bundesliga. These are just two of many highlights in the “old Rieder Stadium”. Numerous high-class athletics meetings have also been and are held in the stadium.
The municipality of Ried is now looking for a new name for the stadium in which the footballers of the Gladiators Ried also play their home games. “We want to invite all of Rieder to take part in finding a name,” says Ried’s sports councilor Sebastian Forstner from the SPÖ.
Submit name suggestions
Suggestions for names can be submitted to the town hall in Ried. The campaign runs until August 31, after which the sports committee and other bodies will decide on the future name of the stadium.
