Fuel prices are still the strongest driver of inflation. However, these prices are stagnating at a high level. But there were noticeable price increases for household energy and in the catering trade, as Statistics Austria announced on Thursday.

Weekly shopping has also become significantly more expensive: the price increase for mini shopping baskets in July was 19.1 percent, more than twice as high as general inflation. If you exclude the expenses for fuel, energy, food and catering, you arrive at an inflation rate of 3.7 percent.
