Novomatic is said to have planned donations to all parties

There is said to have been a draft of a letter about this request, which was of course never sent. In any case, the former FPÖ politicians Hans-Jörg talked about this in May 2020, which was headed by the Novomatic “Institute for Security Policy” (ISP).

ISP cashier Markus Braun, an investment banker (and not the ex-CEO of Wirecard of the same name, note) was also present during the conversation. The entertainment had been secretly recorded by that, they have now transcribed investigators, reports the “Standard” to its Friday edition.

If you believe the interlocutors at the time, Novomatic sought to be close to all parliamentary parties. In the run -up to the 2017 National Council election, the gambling group “made a letter to all parties (…) and offered a party donation”. This should be “between 300,000 and up to 500,000 euros per party” for everyone. When asked by that, Tschank said that Novomatic had never sent the letter. However, a draft was ensured as part of a house search. “So that means what the Strache said in the video: ‘Novomatic pays everyone’ – that’s right, yes?” Asked Tschank loudly. A Novomatic party donation in 2017 or after that was not found by the WKSTA.

That is exactly why it was a major role in a chat entertainment, which plays a major role in some WKSTA investigative strands: a Novomatic press spokesman at the time, the head of the CEO Harald Neumann in June 2017, pointed out that KTM owner Stefan Pierer doubles all small donations to the ÖVP wool. “We have something better in mind :)),” replied Neumann. What he meant by that has not yet been illuminated from the U-committees.

With this sentence he is said to have just indicated the planned watering can party donation, according to Neumann’s environment. And why didn’t Novomatic and her ex-boss clarify this quickly after the Ibiza video appeared? Something like this is for any legal proceedings, according to legal circles.

At the request of the “standard”, Novomatic did not want to comment on the tape conversation between Tschank and that. However, there have already been cooperations with party -related institutes, for example with the institute for security policy (ISP) mentioned. The Economic and Corruption Prosecutor (WKStA) suspects that Novomatic, who transferred 200,000 euros to the ISP for the cooperation, wanted to buy laws. Novomatic denies this and the presumption of innocence applies.
