Good news reached the office of SV Guntamatic Ried yesterday morning. The “Red-White-Red Card”, which is necessary for the settlement and employment of non-EU citizens, for new signing Kingsley Michael arrived in good time before tomorrow’s home game (5 p.m., Josko-Arena) of Rieder against WSG Tirol.
“Thanks to our employees, especially Alexander Mitterhofer, it happened very quickly,” said SVR managing director Rainer Wöllinger and sports director Thomas Reicheltshammer on the sidelines of yesterday’s training session in the old Rieder stadium.
Nothing stands in the way of a competitive debut for the 22-year-old, who came to Ried on loan from the Italian club Bologna. “He will definitely be in the squad against WSG Tirol, whether he will play from the start will only be decided after the final training session on Saturday,” said Heinle yesterday in an OÖN interview.
Who plays in defence?
Defender Julian Turi trained with the team for the first time yesterday. After his serious shoulder injury, a deployment is currently not an option. Coach Heinle is plagued – once again – with great personnel concerns. Central defender Markus Lackner is suspended in Klagenfurt after his yellow-red card.
Christian Heinle will therefore have to improvise in defense. There are several options: either David Ungar or captain Marcel Ziegl could move into central defense alongside Tin Plavotic, and the use of young professional Nico Wiesinger is also an option.
In attack, Leo Mikic returns to the squad after his suspension. Seifedin Chabbi is recovering from an illness and is not in the squad for a while. Denizcan Cosgun and Christoph Monschein have a bad musculature and trained with the team for the first time yesterday without too much strain. A decision will be made today about the use of the two.
Sabitzer as a dream player
SV Ried is still on the lookout for transfers. Another offensive player should be brought in by the end of August. Whether a transfer of desired player Thomas Sabitzer from local rivals LASK will come about seems to be open, the talks between the clubs about possible transfer modalities are likely to be underway.
