“Wos sull dus?” Many fans probably thought when the handcuffs clicked for the football icon in Pasching a week ago. The 69-year-old was provisionally arrested because he is said to have hit officials. He vehemently denies the allegations.
It is now being investigated on suspicion of attempted resistance to state authority, Krankl is to testify again soon to the police in Vienna – the OÖN reported. The cause made waves in the media – and now inspired cabaret artist Alex Kristan to once again slip into one of his signature roles in order to clarify the incident, which was “highly sterilized” by the media, once and for all.
“I’m not Pablo Escobar”
In a six-minute video, Krankl, who is not quite real, describes how the police incident went from his point of view, expressing his indignation at his arrest after a game of rock-paper-scissors – “I’m not Pablo Escobar, I am the Goleador!” – and demands video evidence, because “VAR knows what happened, when what happened”. The wrong Krankl believes that it is really “really normal” that investigations are now being carried out into “Wudstund against the Stutsgewult”. But see for yourself:
