Only one concert in the music pavilion in Linz fell through (rain)water this year

The summer was also kind this year with the events in the renovated music pavilion in Linz’s Donaupark. 5,000 guests attended the 37 open-air concerts and literature evenings offered free of charge by the City of Linz from June to mid-August. The weather was also there from its pleasant side. Only one of the planned 38 events had to be canceled due to bad weather.

For the responsible city councilor Doris Lang-Mayerhofer (VP), the balance is a clear sign that “open-air culture is becoming increasingly important for the urban lifestyle”. The Donaupark has thus become a cultural living room.

According to Lang-Mayerhofer, the programming paid particular attention to promoting young musicians from Linz. The fact that local orchestras and music bands were offered a stage as well as jazz musicians from Linz and the surrounding area and pop bands also showed how colorful and diverse the program was. This “liveliness” in the music mix is to be offered again in the coming year. Like this year, the series of events in the music pavilion is planned to run from mid-June to mid-August.
