Firefighter girls were unbeatable

The joint girls’ youth group Mitteregg-Haagen-Sand (communities of Aschach and Garsten) was the measure of all things at the federal fire brigade youth competition in Traiskirchen (Lower Austria) at the weekend. The young women firefighters were delighted with their first place. On Sunday evening, the gold team was welcomed and duly celebrated by their comrades at the Mitteregg volunteer fire brigade.

A total of 500 young people from all over Austria took part in the showdown. For the ambitious youth troop from Kürnberg (Amstetten district), it was a very good 16th place in the final, which meant the second best fire brigade in Lower Austria. The victory went to the FF Guggenberg from beautiful Mondsee. Amstetten’s district fire brigade commander Rudolf Katzengruber congratulated the young comrades around commander Johannes Infanger: “The Kürnberg fire brigade youth made second place in the state competitions. The result in the national competition gives the Amstetten district great joy again.”
