Innviertler Oktoberfest: There is celebration in Ried

In 2020, the Innviertler Oktoberfest fell victim to the corona pandemic, which makes those responsible at Messe Ried all the more excited about this autumn. From Wednesday, September 14th to Sunday, September 18th, the Oktoberfest will take place in the Rieder trade fair center. The Oberösterreichische Nachrichten accompanies the popular festival as a media partner.

“We have slightly more exhibitors than four years ago. We still have quite a few on the waiting list. It’s important to us that we can offer quality,” says Fair Director Helmut Slezak. In general, the folk festivals are going very well this year, so the mood is correspondingly positive, says Slezak.

Showman Karl Schmelzer-Ziringer is represented in the Innviertel with a 15 meter high “handy Ferris wheel”. “We are always received very friendly in Ried. The people here know how to celebrate and always treat us with great respect,” says Schmelzer-Ziringer.

The large marquee offers space for around 2000 visitors, there is also a wine hall and bar zone. In the Red Zac Arena, a 3000 square meter covered open space, different stands will be cooking up food. “There are also many vegetarian and vegan dishes this year. This wish was often expressed in our surveys – especially by the younger visitors. Every stand will also have a small outdoor dining area,” says Philipp Murauer, project manager of the Innviertler Oktoberfest. Admission is free on all five days and free parking is available.
