According to experts, 83 percent of the population currently clean twice a day – almost one in five (17 percent) does not. “The numbers have improved, but there is still room for improvement,” said yesterday at a press conference on “Oral Health Month”. In 2018, 74 percent said they brushed twice a day.
Fatigue is the main reason given for not brushing your teeth, especially in the evening: More than half (57 percent) of those who don’t like cleaning admit this. This was mentioned most frequently (72 percent) in the 16 to 29 age group. 27 percent stated that they simply forgot about it.
More than a quarter of the 500 people surveyed between the ages of 16 and 75 also stated that they had completely suspended or reduced dental visits since mid-March 2020 due to the pandemic.
Women place much more focus on the topic of oral hygiene, as the survey showed. The youngest and the oldest proved to be particularly careless when brushing their teeth.
