On September 15th, the Welser businesses will be back on their feet: Then the OÖN will present the Welser Businessrun for the eleventh time. The runners have to cover five kilometers. The route, which runs along the Traun in sections, is flat and also ideal for beginners.
The event is also open to individual participants, but the big question is who will take the overall win. Two well-known names are favorites again this year. With an unbelievable 472 participants, Fronius International defended the title at the last business run in 2019, which the company’s employees had won for the first time the year before.
The hottest competitor is the Wels Clinic. The “record winners” had won in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017 before they had to admit defeat to the Fronius team for the first time in 2018. After two work-intensive years during the pandemic, the runners at the clinic around Dietbert Timmerer and Pia Hofmann want to get back to the top.
TGW, Fronius and Reform-Werke are fighting for victory again this year among the apprentices. Here, however, a surprise victory for smaller companies is always possible.

At the end of the year, after the event, the business run party will again take place in exhibition hall 21 with music and a raffle. The sponsors have already considered a number of activities in advance.
On September 2nd and 3rd there will be two running shoe test days at the sponsor Intersport Pachleitner. The Adler pharmacy will provide a multifunctional headband for all participants.
In addition, free company photos will be taken for all participating companies on September 15th. In the finish area there is another running check by Intersport.
