According to the police, the hiker was accompanied by two friends, 75 and 76 years old, around 11.30 a.m. in the area of the so-called Kommalm and entered a delimited pasture with warning signs and numerous suckler cows and calves.
The 76-year-old stayed on the forest path with her little dog on her arm, but her friends took a different route and walked past the grazing animals. A cow that apparently wanted to protect its calves attacked the 69-year-old several times, knocked her over and severely injured her head and upper body.
The 75-year-old was not attacked and helped her friend drive the animal away. The injured were able to get themselves to safety. Officers from the Sattendorf police inspection took care of the 69-year-old until the rescue arrived. This brought the woman to the LKH Villach.
