Patron gives Gmunden two paintings from the Biedermeier period

Although Herta d’Albis has lived in Venice since graduating and works for an auction house, her heart is still in Gmunden, where she grew up in the Löcker Villa (Satoristraße) and graduated from the “Pensi”.

The doctor of theater studies and archaeologist never broke off contact with Gmunden and regularly vacations here.

She has now donated two oil paintings from the Biedermeier period to the Kammerhof Museum. One is by the Silesian painter Carl F. Seiffert (1809 – 1891) and shows Lake Gosau and the Gosau Glacier, the other, unsigned, offers a view of Gmunden from Calvary – at a time when the cemetery was still on the site of the city schools. The paintings are heirlooms.
Herta d’Albis wants the two pictures to tell visitors to the Kammerhof Museum about her family, about her and her love for Gmunden.
