On the right side, faces are color-painted, by Nikolas Smith, of several children on top of a giant book, with Gianna highlighted, the daughter of the player who died with him in the helicopter crash.

The mural was featured on Mamba Day, an unofficial celebration that takes place every August 24 in the Los Angeles area and includes a series of events commemorating the basketball player who entered the NBA at ages 17 and 20. He was wearing a Los Angeles Lakers jersey.

Born in Amadora, Odate began painting on the street and on railroad tracks and worked on tattoos and murals for more than a decade in the vicinity of Cova da Moura, 6 de Mayo and Santa Filomena, while developing the 3D (three dimensions) technique. , one of the most striking features of his work, which motivated him to work extensively in the United States of America.

Kobe Bryant is idolized around the world, where he is honored in many different ways.

Last year, the American basketball player was honored in Lisbon, in the parish of Lumiar, as part of a project on the Hoopers platform by writer Elio Bray.

Elio Bray “divided” the work into three parts: the basketball court, the side of the stairs leading into the building, and the gable of the 12-story building.

In the center of the field, Elio Bray drew two circles, a figure he often uses in his work, which together make up 8, a number that Kobe Bryant “always used a lot” and which, lying down, is the symbol for infinity.

“With the help of two circles, I managed to reproduce the number 8 on his shirt with his signature in the center of the field. It’s a way to immortalize it, if necessary,” the “writer” said in May last year, Lusa.
