The successful weightlifters of the Innviertel clubs start the autumn season on September 2nd and 3rd with the 27th International Günter Stapfer Tournament in Ranshofen. It will definitely be a strenuous championship, as there is one team each in the Bundesliga, National League and Regional League. After the start of the season, the state individual championship for women will take place in Buchkirchen at the beginning of October. For Lena Raidel and Sarah Fischer, two figureheads of Union Lochen, the Junior and U23 European Championships are also on the schedule from October 15th to 25th. This year’s Bundesliga final is scheduled for November 5, with the National League final taking place a week later on November 12.
High commitment despite the heat
At a training course for the youngsters of the Upper Austrian Weightlifting Association last weekend in the federal sports center in Maria Alm, three athletes from the Innviertel competition community, Patrick Dürnberger, Christian Landlinger and Jakob Weber, took part in addition to the youngsters from Lochner, who are preparing for the international tournament in Ranshofen. According to course instructor Jürgen Pfaffenberger, everyone was very enthusiastic – despite the high summer temperatures. The second OÖGV training course will take place in Maria Alm this coming weekend (26th to 28th August). Jakob Maislinger, Patrick Dürnberger, Philipp Boresch and Matthias Perik from WKG Innviertel will be there. Preview of the 27th International Günter Stapfer Memorial in Ranshofen: After a two-year pandemic break, the International Günter Stapfer Memorial can finally take place again. A total of 87 participants from five nations (Ireland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria) have already registered for the competitions. It starts on Friday, September 2nd at 2 p.m. in the Alois Sauerlachner Weightlifting Center in Ranshofen. The tournament will then continue on Saturday, September 3, at 9:30 am.
