Again it was the FF Hinterschiffl and the FF St. Martin – the two teams last showed up at the fire brigade world championships in Celje – who laughed from the pedestal. The Federal Fire Cup took place for the very first time this year as part of the 13th federal fire service performance competition in St. Pölten. A total of 38 teams from Austria, Bavaria and South Tyrol took part in the “duel of the best”.
Hinterschiffl from the Rohrbach district now holds the title of the first Federal Fire Cup winner in history. With 471.18 points, they took first place ahead of St. Martin im Mühlkreis – also Rohrbach – with 470.42 points and Zillingtal from Burgenland with 469.62 points.
In the “with age points” category, victory went to Ainet in Tirol with 476.54 points, followed by Kottingneusiedl (475.25) and Thallern (474.54), both from Lower Austria.
Upper Austria also won the women’s ranking. The group from Julbach was happy about first place with 465.38 points, Rudersdorf-Berg from Burgenland came second with 464.13 points, and Maria Raisenmarkt from Lower Austria took third place with 462.67 points.
The state fire brigade association announced on Saturday that the prizes were presented by state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner, fire brigade president Robert Mayer and state fire brigade commander Dietmar Fahrafellner.
