Ten overtime hours per month are currently tax-free up to a maximum of 86 euros. The ÖABB demanded in a broadcast on Sunday that up to 20 hours of overtime in the amount of 200 euros should be tax-exempt in the future.
According to the People’s Party, Wöginger had already contacted Economics and Labor Minister Martin Kocher (ÖVP) about the overtime issue. Due to the current shortage of workers, the permanent workforce often has to work significantly more overtime. “Especially in times of rising prices, people must be given the opportunity to have more work reflected in their wallets,” says ÖAAB Secretary General Christoph Zarits.
In the summer, KTM boss Stefan Pierer had already proposed a tax exemption of 20 overtime hours per month as an incentive for more work.
