The lower house buffon on farewell tour

SCHÄRDING. SV Ried, Blau-Weiss Linz, Altach, Wacker Burghausen, Amstetten, Stadl-Paura, St. Florian, Hertha Wels – these are the clubs for which Andreas Michl put his gloves on. Now his career is ending where it started – at SK Schärding. “If we have a good successor next summer, then I will end my career,” says Michl, who is not only a goalkeeper at Schärding, but also a sports director and section manager. “He’s doing a great job. This double burden is certainly not easy, but Andi gives everything,” says Schärding trainer Bernhard Straif.

On Saturday, the people of the Innviertel clinched their first win of the season: 4:0 at St. Marienkirchen/Wallern 1b. Michl, who as head of sport is jointly responsible for putting together the squad and signings, kept his box clean.

Career highlight BVB

When it comes to the highlights of his career, the goalkeeper immediately thinks of that DFB Cup game for Burghausen against Borussia Dortmund in 2010. “Dortmund became champions this season. Playing against Lewandowski, Götze and Weidenfeller was a huge thing,” says Michl.

Andorf (2-0 in Gmunden) and Peuerbach (4-1 at Sattledt) also celebrated their first wins of the new season in the West. In the Landesliga Ost, Admira Linz is the positive surprise of the still young season after beating Schwertberg 3-1 – the fourth win in the fourth game.
