Made! The last scaffolding and tarpaulin were removed from the former vicarage in Weyer after the cultural center had been a construction site for five years.
419 depositors cleared the biggest hurdle for a revitalization of the already desolate building in a crowdfunding with a collection result of 105,102 euros in 2017. “We were also helped by donations from sponsors and the public sector,” says Michael Hagauer from the “Frikulum” sponsoring association. In the months leading up to the opening weekend on September 16th and 17th, there was a lot of shoveling, hammering and screwing.
The Berthold Hall, as the whole building is called in Weyer, is now a modern timber construction. The rescue from the demolition ball will be celebrated on Friday, September 16th, with a guest performance of the Waidhofner “Filmzuckerls” with the screening of the latest film “Rimini” by Ulrich Seidl. On Saturday, a bouncy castle will be inflated at 10 a.m., followed by concerts and a children’s program. The opening will be official at 7 p.m. when representatives from the municipality, state of Upper Austria and Leaderregion will be asked to take the microphone. Then the party really gets going with “The Scottish Principle”, Austrofred and Kurt Razelli.
