125 years of church consecration in Pregarten celebrated

At the end of August 1897, the neo-Gothic Pregartner parish church was inaugurated. In the years that followed, until 1903, Pregarten had two churches. Local historian Erwin Zeinhofer designed a special exhibition in the parish hall for this occasion and presented previously unknown documents of the church building from the parish archive. Numerous sketches, plans, design proposals and invoices from the businesses involved as well as historical photos provide an overview of the construction of the church. “Back then, it was a courageous decision to build the new parish church outside of the town center,” reports Erwin Zeinhofer and continues, “today, however, the church is back in the center of town, and the foresight of the parish leaders is also the beautiful church park and the unique thanks to the staircase to the church from the town square”. The parish with Pastor August Aichhorn, Mayor Fritz Robeischl and City Councilor Florian Grugl proudly looked back on this historic date in Pregarten.
