Two children aged five to ten were found dead in suitcases bought at an auction in Auckland, New Zealand. The alert was raised on 11 August when a family who bought two suitcases opened them to find decomposing bodies inside.
The police are investigating the case.
According to the newspaper independent, authorities said the father of two died in 2017, a victim of cancer. The mother, on the other hand, fled to South Korea in 2018 when police believe two of the children have already died due to the state of decomposition of the bodies.
The family that discovered the bodies is not suspected of the crime.
Authorities have confirmed they know the identities of the children, but are not releasing details to protect the investigation.
